  This place is absolutely incredible!!! It's super high up in Positano with beautiful views and gorgeous ambiance. The restaurant itself is beautiful with tons of greenery.
  
  There's no menu, the food is just whatever Mamma is cooking that day. You get so many courses for a very reasonable price, starting with appetizers, moving to pastas, and then tons of meats. They bring soooooo much food out but it's all absolutely delicious.
  
  I absolutely recommend this spot if you're in Positano for wonderful food and an absolutely incredible overall experience.

  I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The views here are certainly spectacular and the service was wonderful. The staff was lively and friendly and definately kept you entertained with music and merriment.
  This restaurant offers you car service to the restaurant and back to positano for free.
  For a 45 euro flat fee you are not given a menu, but must instead eat what they have made for the day. There is also unlimited wine, not great wine, but not terrible either.
  Although you are served an immense amount of food, I thought the food itself was sub par. . It reminded me of what you would get if you were at a buffet.
  I did not feel like the experience was authenticly Italian, if you are a true foodie you will be disappointed.

  La Tagliata seems to be the restaurant that everyone talks about in Positano that you have to dine at. It's really an entire experience. I booked a reservation about a month before and through email communication, you basically tell them where you're staying, and they will let you know where the free shuttle will pick you up, and drop you back off. Definitely a great perk with this restaurant. This place is so far up the mountain, it would be a real pain to get there on your own.
  Another great perk is the view. It's basically first come, first serve when it comes to the seating. Not sure you can request a window spot, but if you can definitely get it. It's a perfect view of the city.
  Probably the best perk of all. Most restaurants you go to in Positano, they have their house wine which isn't expensive compare to American wine menus. La Tagliata, it's all you can drink so have at it.
  The staff is great. They introduce themselves, explain the backstory of the restaurant, and explain what you're going to be having as a family style meal (apps, pasta, meats, and desserts). They also provide some entertainment during your meal with dancing and singing songs. It's just a great experience you need to see for yourself.
  They start you with prosciutto mozzarella which is great wherever you go. My only fault with the meal is you obviously are served with what they want to serve you. So for instance, the only food I do not like is ricotta cheese. It was unfortunate to say, but two of the four pastas were stuffed with copious amounts where my girlfriend couldn't even take it. The meat course however was amazing. I almost don't remember all the meats, but I think it was a dish of steak, pork-chop, chicken, rabbit, sausage and another meat as well. Dessert was a variety of cakes (hazelnut, fruit and an unknown due to the wine). I wish the pastas were doable for me, but I can tell this place can cook good food. It's not my favorite food in Positano, but this place is definitely worth it.
  La Tagliata I would say lives up to the hype. Service, food and view. Make a reservation and let the wine flowwwww.

  While this isn't the 'best quality' food that you'll find in the area, it is certainly one of the most fun and unique dining experiences around.
  
  La Tagilata is wayyyyy up in the hills of Positano. They offer a free shuttle with pick up and drop off at most hotels in the area (seems like what mostly everyone was doing). The shuttle is large and runs pretty frequently, so it's not hard to snag one when you are finished with your meal.
  
  There is no menu at La Tagliata. Fork over 45 euro per person and here's what you'll get:
  
  -A first appetizer platter with prosciutto, burrata, bread and pickled veggies
  -A second appetizer platter with a bunch of different things. Fried mashed potatoes, some mushy different types of beans + peas and a few different types of eggplant
  -A pasta sampler with four different types of pasta
  -A main entree of grilled meats, fries and salads
  -Dessert with some cakes and fruits
  ***UNLIMITED HOUSE WINE***
  
  So the quantity of food is definitely there, but the quality is just so-so. The second appetizer platter was really just one big mush. The pasta was good, but a lot of them were similar. Really just different shapes of pasta with red sauce and cheese. The meat and fries were probably the worst -- very flavorless and oily. But, when put all together it is a decent meal, and of course with all of that food you'll leave full.
  
  But, the real reason to visit is because of the ambiance and the views. This restaurant is as high up as you can go, and because of that the views are killer. You feel like you are dining on the edge of the earth.The interior is beautifully decorated with lots of flowy curtains and hanging plants. And there is live musical entertainment throughout the meal which was so fun.
  
  Everyone is in a good mood. You are on vacation, in a beautiful setting drinking unlimited house wine. Could mediocre Italian food even really put a damper on that? I mean c'monnn - even mehh pasta in Italy isn't actually bad. With that said, I suggest trying this spot out during a trip to Positano.

  This was one of the best Italian homemade foods we had while vacationing in Italy. Couple of my friends recommended this place so we decided to try it out. Our hotel manager made reservations for us and the restaurant sent a van to pick us up from our hotel because the location of the restaurant is on top of the hills. The location is beautiful overlooking Positano and the ocean. I wish we went here for lunch instead of dinner so we could enjoy the beautiful views.
  
  The place is cozy and very welcoming. The staff is friendly and probably the best service we had in all over Italy. The food is delicious. It's served family style, there is no menu to order from. They bring you whatever is made that day. From appetizers to pasta, grilled meats and desserts. A lot of food for 45 euros a person. And that includes their house wine and sparkling water.
  
  We were told that the restaurant is set in a family farm. They grow their own fruits and vegetables. They use their own harvest to cook with. During lunch you can visit the garden and see it all. Maybe next time
  
  I highly recommend this place when in Positano.
